Kirky’s First CD- ”When A Swag Was Our Home” – was released on Sat Nov 10-2012 in Walkamin

G’Day,
After the initial launch of “Swag” in 2012 things sort of got a bit busy and everything was a bit overwhelming and this web site was left unattended for a while, so now I would like to update it a little.
April 2014 saw us down in Widgee for their festival where I played a set as a guest Artist
and got a taste of what southern festivals are like, then it was back home to the Tableland for the usual round of Pubs & Clubs ,Weddings & Parties. In between all of this a 2nd album “Another Side Of Me” was released.
New Year was a double session at the Yungaburra Hotel starting at 5.30 & ending up with young & old out in the Ballroom at midnight. (was a bit tired by the time I finished at 1.30)
January 2015 & Tamworth Festival beckoned so a caravan was bought, checked ,loaded , hooked up behind the old Tojo & away we went for a short shake down trip to Tamworth (2.500k’s). Too many highlights to mention but out of the trip has come a lot of new friends & supporters as well as an offer for one or two of our songs to be added to a compilation album produced by Peter,Lynette & Virginia Coad for the Australian Bush Balladeers Association.
Kelly Dixon also went for a trip south & picked up 2 “Gidgee Coal Awards” and a “Legend Award” at various festivals for various things he’d achieved, one of which was Song Of the Year at Pittsworth Festival
There is a busy schedule coming up after a quiet start to 2015 & I will endeavour to keep the Gig Guide page updated & see if we can be a bit artistic on the About page to let people know what we’ve been up to.’Til then, I hope your dreams are good ones, Stay safe.Dave
